In mid-to-late 2011, Advocate signed to Bridgeway Entertainment, a subsidiary label of Red Cord Records. Its members were Adam Anagnostis, John Gorman, Jon Knudsen, and Kevin Bledsoe, some of whom were in Backstabbers, Inc. and Straight to Hell. They were active from 2001-2005 and released 1 EP, a split, and a compiled album entitled From Soil Laced with Lyme in 2003 via Happy Couples Never Last. 3) Advocate is a melodic death metal band from Decatur, IL. They were formed in 2004 under the name Life Equals Zero. In mid-2006, after their vocalist left to pursue other projects, their bassist also left the band. After replacing their drummer, they changed their name to Advocate. They played shows without a vocalist or bassist for well over a year, before deciding on full-time replacements.
