Åmnfx is a prolific producer from Moscow, Russia. He works with the raw and innovative sound. While many up-and-coming music makers try to imitate the sound of others, Åmnfx goes into the wild, looking for his own way to transmit the ideas. Influenced by the punk and rock scenes from 68'– 82' era, during sleepless nights he invents more and more techniques in music writing and sound design, constantly looking for a better way to communicate with people through emotions. His sound point of destination doesn't exist, yet. Started from lo-fi experiments with old amplifiers and home recordings of his piano, he has already touched the fields of house & acid techno, releasing his productions on imprints around the world – 100% Silk, Opal Tapes, THRHNDRDSVNTNN, MMODEMM to name a few. When writing a track, he starts without a drum beat, trying to achieve uniqueness with melody – this method reminds him the traditional songwriting process, when words and a simple riff came first. But instead of words, he uses delays of vinyl scratches and loops of his piano recordings. One can notice it on the dancefloor, dancing to transition between common beat-based music and Åmnfx productions, because it's always different. "I find it interesting to make such transitions while playing, people can't predict my actions behind the decks", says Åmnfx. His musical background allows him to do so. He sang in choral school as a child and learned classical & electric guitar playing later, before moving to electronic production. Sound engineering course at university also helped him to explore the world of contemporary music, where he studied mixing & mastering for music and film. After he released his early Rave EP and Vision One LP, many established DJs and producers, including Volvox, Bambounou, Mall Grab, Nikita Zabelin and Nina Kraviz, noted his unusual sound. Nikita eventually invited Åmnfx to play at his UNIT parties, where he developed his energetic and unpredictable style, while playing alongside Skee Mask, STENNY, Denise Rabe, Abelle, Etapp Kyle, PTU, and Nikita himself. Later on he played his first live session on RTS.FM and continued to perform at club nights in Moscow & St. Petersburg, and in 2017 went to the tour in Germany & Austria, supporting guys from Frankfurt-based MMODEMM imprint (on which he put out one of his most experimental productions, "Possible Deviations"). At the same time he released his second album Moscow Beat on LA-based 100% Silk, switching to the more dance-oriented direction. While being in Germany, Åmnfx met his old mate Wnimanie, who experimented at the time with minimal structures in Heidelberg. Their jam was released later on Firering, the DIY recycling-oriented label which Åmnfx started in Moscow to issue experimental productions from him and his friends. "I find old tapes with good quality around the city and re-record them with new music and new package from recycled materials", explains he. In 2018 he issued the very first label's tape compilation, the Silver Soundbox, which featured 12 fellow artists with innovative sound. Constantly working on experimental shapes of music, he captures the essence of emotional transformation inside & around him. Now he works on his third album, Modern Life, which will show his explorations on breakbeat, drum & bass and IDM.
